Dear Bitcoin community members,
We believe Bitcoin is one of the most exciting innovations the world has ever seen and has the potential to transform the lives of billions of people across the globe. We are not alone in this belief. There are hundreds of thousands of believers just like us and that number is growing every day.
The issue is, it’s not growing fast enough. If we want Bitcoin to succeed, those who believe in it need to assume the responsibility for getting the message out there. We need to make sure that everyone in the world knows about Bitcoin and understands its potential.
The truth is, no one really knows exactly what Bitcoin is capable of doing. Just like you could have never predicted all the advancements the internet has brought the world, Bitcoin is in its infancy and no one can predict where it will be in 5,10, or 20 years.
The mainstream media continues to cover Bitcoin with a negative, often false light and everytime we see this, it pains us. So, instead of sitting back and watching this happen, we decided to launch a campaign to raise awareness around Bitcoin.
Our campaign is called #ExploreBitcoin and it has one mission: increase Bitcoin awareness. Today, our campaign kicked off with taxi ads, spinner signs, and billboards across the country.
If you are in Florida, you may see our taxi signs driving around.
If you are in San Francisco or LA, you may see these billboards:
And if you happen to visit a Western Union store in Chicago, DC or New York, you may see these guys standing in front holding these signs.
This will be an on-going campaign that we will move through numerous cities in the upcoming months. This isn’t about Genesis Mining. We want to kick start a movement and have other companies launch similar initiatives in the US and abroad.
You don’t have to do expensive outdoor media. You can even publish social media images, like this:
But do something. Let’s raise awareness. All across the media are misconceptions, myths, and outright lies about what Bitcoin is. Let’s give the community a voice and let’s show the world what Bitcoin can do.
We know stepping out and doing this campaign will generate criticisms from the community, and that’s fine. We’ll take it. But instead of spending your time talking about us, why not put those efforts towards raising awareness about Bitcoin? The community constantly fights and criticizes each other. Why not put all that energy towards helping push Bitcoin forward?
We need to stand together as a community, and every company and member of the community needs to do their part to ensure as many people in the world know the truth about Bitcoin.
So, Bitcoin community, let’s get creative. Let’s put our time towards growing the Bitcoin userbase. We’ve come a long way but still have a long way to go. Let’s make it happen together.
